The Mid-South Wrestling promotion covered the states of Mississippi, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas primarily. It was one of the most popular and exciting wrestling promotions of the 1980’s. During this time, Mid-South was promoted by future WWE Hall Of Famer “Cowboy” Bill Watts. Ted spent his first year as a full-time professional wrestler, in this territory from the Summer of 1975 to the Summer of 1976. He returned to Mid-South in January 1980, working there on and off over the next seven years until 1987. In addition to Ted DiBiase, Mid-South helped to create and establish such great stars as Junkyard Dog, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, Jake Roberts, Paul Orndorff and “Dr. Death” Steve Williams to name a few.
